Congratulations to artists Emme Kirkland, Mackenzie Braswell, and Drew Barnes (not pictured) on the inclusion of their artworks from the VSU High School Invitational in the 4th Annual Art of Writing Anthology! Their works were chosen from among 228 other pieces and will be included inside the book among 5 other artists. @onelowndes

Mrs. Davis's and Mrs. Robison's AP Environmental Science classes had a special treat when the mayor of Valdosta came and discussed many ways Valdosta is environmentally friendly from decreasing CO2 emissions by 12% through the use of Valdosta on Demand to cleaning up our watersheds. @onelowndes




This week Lowndes High FCCLA took the largest group to State Leadership Conference that we have ever taken! Students got to hear a keynote speaker, attend a business session, and compete in a wide range of events! We had so many high ranking individuals, and a couple of advancers to Nationals! Teaching as Profession students competed in the PAGE Future Georgia Educators State Competition at Mercer Thursday, March 13. Caroline White, Caroline Hobby, and Caden Powell placed 2nd in Knowledge Bowl, and Caroline White placed 3rd in Prepared Speech. @onelowndes

The Viking Cantors attended the annual Georgia Music Educators’ Association LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) event at Ware County High School today.
The Cantors sang a program of two a cappella songs for which they received unanimous “Superior” ratings from their judges, followed by a four-part SATB Class A Sight-Singing evaluation for which they also received “Superior” ratings!
Director of Choirs, Dr. Jennifer McQuade could not be more proud of these hard-working, performance-driven students. In addition to their musical achievements, they demonstrated superior etiquette and comportment. All three judges remarked on their air of professionalism.

Ms Tindall's Programming class took a local trip to Valdosta State University for the STEAM Career Expo. Students got to explore many STEAM related careers and job internship opportunities. @onelowndes











Congratulations to our FFA students that competed yesterday. Victoria Schmidtt competed in the Discussion LDE. She made it to the final round but was bested by some really tough competition. Kensley Dodson placed 2nd and advanced to the state competition next month in Senior Prepared Public Speaking. And finally, Emma Rodgers won the Creed Speaking LDE and has advanced to state competition as well. @OneLowndes

We’ve had a great time at the largest Georgia HOSA State Leadership Conference to date! Our students competed against over 4000 students from across the state in various competitions. We had two students make it on stage for the Grand Awards Session. Congratulations to Madison Booth for placing 2nd in Dental Terminology and Emma Register for placing in the top 5 for Veterinary Science! Emma and Madison also serve as Co-Presidents of our HOSA chapter! Madison will go on to compete at the International HOSA conference this summer in Houston, Texas! #OneLowndes @onelowndes








LHS CTAE Students participated in a Career Fair today. We had 26 presenters sharing opportunities for post graduation career options for all students. The students walked away informed and excited about working! @onelowndes
