Last night, we held our final rising 6th-grade parent session. Since we have a large population of Hispanic students, this is our second year offering a Spanish-speaking parent information night. Señora Ana Brown did a fantastic job of presenting all things 6th grade to the families that attended.
Mrs. King’s and Ms. Meek’s Georgia Studies classes reconstructed the “Anne” ship that brought the first colonists to Georgia. They were allowed only five objects to construct a vessel that would hold the “colonists” and stay afloat. The students enjoyed building, predicting, and testing their vessels. What a way to sail away into summer! #STEM #GAHistory

For the Y-Lead end-of-the-year field trip, we visited an escape room, met various downtown shop owners, met Mayor Scott Matheson, and had a private tour of the historic downtown courthouse. It was an exciting day of learning and exploring the many opportunities our great city provides.
