The Lowndes Middle School Counseling Program
Provides a comprehensive program based on American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Standards and Georgia State Standards
Provides a comprehensive program planned by the counseling department and stakeholders, which focuses on three broad domains: Academic, Social-Emotional, and College/Career.
Provides guidance and encouragement to individual or groups of individuals, as well as challenges and inspires them creatively in managing and resolving practical, personal, and relationship issues to help students achieve goals.
Integrates community resources for program delivery.
Uses data such as school climate, discipline, needs assessments, attendance, stakeholder evaluations, and surveys, along with student pre- and post-lesson evaluations, to drive the program development, evaluation, and impact.
The Lowndes Middle School Counselors will participate in local, regional, state, and national professional development to improve and maintain a comprehensive school counseling program and follow ethical standards.
As Professional School Counselors, we work with students on an individual basis, in small groups and in their classrooms. We also attend parent-teacher conferences at the request of the parent/guardian or teacher, as well as Response to Intervention (RTI) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
