LMS Administration

Mr. Bill Haskin began teaching in the Lowndes County School System in August 2002, as a 6th grade Social Studies teacher, and then a 7th grade Science Teacher at Hahira Middle School. He was our system Teacher of the Year for 2006-2007, and a Top 10 Finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year. He came to Lowndes Middle School in 2010 as Assistant Principal.

In May 2002, Mr. Haskin graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education. He graduated as the Outstanding Middle Grades Student of the Year, the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year, and won the University’s highest honor, the Annie Powe Hopper Award for most outstanding student. Most important to Bill, he graduated with one of his four sons who today is also a teacher. He completed graduate school and Educational Leadership certification in 2009.

He served in the Air Force for 27 years as a Security Policeman, Leadership School Commandant, and First Sergeant, and deployed to the Persian Gulf War. He has four sons, four daughters-in-law, and nine grand-children.

Mrs. Amanda Hiers is a proud graduate of Lowndes High School and Valdosta State University. She believes the Lowndes County School System is a place where memories are made, expectations are high, and academic success is accomplished.

Ms. Rico Tucker is a proud native of Thomasville, Georgia and a graduate of the Thomasville City School System. Ms. Tucker is the proud parent of two children, who are both students in Lowndes County Schools.

She is an alumnus of Valdosta State University and Nova Southeastern University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Masters in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology, a gifted Endorsement, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership. Her 21 year educational career has been with both school systems in Lowndes County. She began her administrative career in 2018 as an Assistant Principal at Hahira Middle School.

Her favorite quote is “ Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” She believes a consistent partnership between the parents, school, and community is the backbone to academic success for all students. Her passion is to serve her local community and continue to make a difference in the lives of the children at Lowndes Middle School.
