Bill Haskin, Principal

     Mr. Bill Haskin began teaching in the Lowndes County School System in August 2002, as a 6th grade Social Studies teacher, and then a 7th grade Science Teacher at Hahira Middle School.  He was our system Teacher of the Year for 2006-2007, and a Top 10 Finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year.  He came to Lowndes Middle School in 2010 as Assistant Principal.
     In May 2002, Mr. Haskin graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education.  He graduated as the Outstanding Middle Grades Student of the Year, the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year, and won the University’s highest honor, the Annie Powe Hopper Award for most outstanding student.  Most important to Bill, he graduated with one of his four sons who today is also a teacher.  He completed graduate school and Educational Leadership certification in 2009. 
     He served in the Air Force for 27 years as a Security Policeman, Leadership School Commandant, and First Sergeant, and deployed to the Persian Gulf War.  He has four sons, four daughters-in-law, and six grand-children.
